Nicotiana obtusifolia, Desert tobacco grows from deserts in California to Texas and down into Mexico. Desert Tobacco is a soft little perennial that looks out of place in the desert. It looks more like it should be in a tropical settings than in Barstow. I've only seen this a couple of times in the wild, both times in crevices or small east facing gullies.
