Eriogonum heermannii, what a neat buckwheat, dark green foliage of E. grande rubescens, flowers are a soft butter yellow. Butterflies use the plant, the plant looks good enough for most any garden. The garbage clay that it grows on should allow it to grow in any adobe soil to straight rock. Wet in winter and dust in summer. Associated plants are Pinus Sabiniana, Ceanothus cuneatus, Lotus scoparius, Salvia mellifera, Diplacus, and Adenostoma. Click here for more about California Buckwheats
