Eriogonum compositum

Northern Buckwheat.

Its native from N. Calif. to E. Washington, Idaho to 7500 feet. Its flowers are very light yellow flowers in a tight cluster. It has dark green foliage. It tolerates containers better than many. This one has grown well in the nursery ground for years with little or no water or care. It makes its appearance each spring followed by a 2-3inchflower cluster and it disappears each summer-fall. Grows in dry rocky areas at middle elevations Napa to Idaho away from trees. The buckwheats are very important butterfly plants and one of the pillars of their communities.
