Ephedra californica

California Jointfir.

Evergreen shrub, 5 ft., dry areas, central and southern California, and stems used for tea. Ephedra spp. are good wildlife plants. Grows with Eriogonum fasciculatum polifolium, Encelia actoni, Brickellia nevinii, Yucca whipplei, Opuntia treleasei, and Isomeris arborea.
