Cupressus nevadensis

Piute Cypress is a small tree that grows in the mountains of Kern County. Fast to 20' then slowly to 30'. C. nevadensis has very grey foliage. The temperature was -15 F on the site where these grow this year. In the wild it looks like Arizona cypress, its close cousin, as it grows amongst granite boulders. Syn. Cupressus arizonica ssp. nevadensis, Hesperocyparis nevadensis , Neocupressus nevadensis and Callitropsis nevadensis.
