Ceanothus Tassajara Blue Ceanothus

Mountain Lilac.

1Gal Container (Up to 0)
Ceanothus Tassajara Blue mountain lilac has glossy, deep green leaves, medium blue flowers, on an upright bush to 6-8 ft. high and 5-8 ft. wide. A hybrid with Ceanothus arboreus and Ceanothus griseus as parents. Tassajara Blue Ceanothus is a selection introduced by Las Pilitas nursery. This flowering mountain lilac makes a quick screen, or hedge, is very garden tolerant, drought resistant, and shearable with a hedge trimmer if you are so inclined. One of the best hedge plants around. Mix with Cercocarpus, a few coffeeberries and toyons and you have a wonderful living fence that acts as a hedge and wildlife corridor. Let's see, fast, easy, drought tolerant, garden tolerant, and easy on the eye as you bury the neighbors, what else do you want? Mix in the middle of Yankee Point Ceanothus to make a mound. Use behind Desert Mallow to knock the socks off of your neighbors. The myth of Ceanothus being short lived is primarily spread by incompetent gardeners that insist on drip irrigation, summer water, and soil amendments. Upland California native plants hate all three. Expect a 20-25 year life in most gardens. Click here for more about Mountain Lilacs.
