Seaside Calandrina.

Glaucous, annual, with fleshy leaves and red-purple flowers, sandy areas, and sea bluffs, uncommon. SCo, ChI, Baja. Dies and shrivels after flowering, noticeable in the spring when flowering. A component of the coastal sage scrub plant community.
Syn. Cistanthe maritima.
