A flat perennial with rhizomes forming clump to edge of moisture, up to several feet across. Native to moist places in the east central Sierras. The flowers 1" yellow composites (DYC). Use with Helenium hoopsii, ferns, Anemopsis, Mentha, columbines, etc.. This plant will make a tight binding carpet of green leaves at ground level. It's great for you in the mountains that need something to keep your streams stable, or to edge a pond.

Arnica parryi var. sonnei tolerates sand, clay, no drainage and seasonal flooding.

Foliage of Arnica parryi var. sonnei has color silver and is deciduous.
Flower of Arnica parryi var. sonnei has color yellow.

Communities for Arnica parryi var. sonnei:Douglas Fir Forest, Red Fir Forest and Mountain Meadow.
