6" mound with 1" pink pom-poms 1' high. Will take almost any climate with regular water. Best in part shade inland, full sun along coast. Not drought tolerant or tough except on coastal bluffs. Excellent between flagstone walk leading up from the coastal bluffs. Tolerates sandy soils but better in adobe clay. I do not like this one much as it cannot be pushed at all in drought tolerant landscaping anywhere but the immediate coast. It is useful and very colorful if your house is one of those on the coastal bluffs.

Armeria maritima var. californica tolerates seaside conditions, alkaline soil, sand, clay, high traffic(people walking on it) and deer.

Foliage of Armeria maritima var. californica has color silver and is deciduous.
Flower of Armeria maritima var. californica has color pink.
