Carex obispoensis

San Luis Obispo sedge is different form most other sedges, it doesn't seem to go dormant, and it seems to be somewhat drought tolerant. Carex obispoensis also prefers serpentine or other heavy clays. Good in conventional gardens, needs about as much water as regular garden plants. In a native yard plant with Satureja mimuloides, Satureja douglasii, Iris douglasii, Solidago , Penstemon 'Margarita BOP", or Zauschneria.

Carex obispoensis tolerates clay.

Foliage of Carex obispoensis has color gray and is evergreen.
Flower of Carex obispoensis has color yellow.

Communities for Carex obispoensis:Closed-cone Pine Forest and Coastal Sage Scrub.
