Penstemon procerus

Small Penstemon is native in the higher elevations of California throughout much of the rest of the US and Southern Canada. Useful in a small moist rock garden. Use with Eriogonium umbellatum, a boulder and maybe Sisyrinchium bellum and a California poppy. They all flower about the same time and get along ok.


Penstemon procerus is great for a bird garden.
Foliage of Penstemon procerus is stressdeciduous.
Flower of Penstemon procerus has color violet.

Communities for Penstemon procerus:Great Basin Sage, Alpine Fell-Fields, Lodgepole Forest, Mountain Meadow and Sub-Alpine Forest.
