Wyethia angustifolia

A 1ft perennial with 3inch yellow flowers, dies to the ground each winter, comes back in the spring with 3inch wide 1-2ft long green leaves. Native to the coastal mountains and Sierras of Central Calif.. It is native to areas of rainfall ranging from 20 to 50 inches/year. It is perfectly stable here. It made it through the Dec. 1990 frosts in containers with no losses.
