A seep plant in lower elevations can be found in sunny road cuts at higher elevations. Native from the coast to Death Valley. Its 2' plumes of yellow flowers brighten many areas of Calif.. Easy to grow as long as you have water. It looks similar to Celosia. Native in clay soils. This form is small foliaged and large flowered. The flower spike is the ideal size for cut flowers. It likes moist (not wet) spots.

Solidago confinis tolerates clay and seasonal flooding.
