A beautiful 2-3' perennial with dark green glossy foliage and deep blue-purple 1" flowers that are scented like violets but better. A sweet wonderful headturning smell. Native to the Gaviota pass area north of Santa Barbara. It is doing fine here at the nursery in the ground and fine at Cal Poly, SLO. A nice looking perennial that needs no water in most coastal gardens and can look formal as it flowers much of the year. It is native in clay, but does well here in sandy loam.
