A grey willow that is 4-6ft tall in our area. It can get to 15ft in the San Joaquin Valley. It is native all over Calif. (below 3000ft) and into Baja and Oregon. Excellent for stream stabilizing as it suckers madly. It is native in a stream bed a few miles from us. It is almost standing in the water in sandy-gravel.

Salix hindsiana var. hindsiana tolerates sand, no drainage and seasonal flooding.

Flower of Salix hindsiana var. hindsiana has color yellow.
