Purshia glandulosa

Desert bitterbrush.

1Gal Container (Up to 0)
Desert bitterbrush is anevergreen shrub that grows to 4' tall and 6' across. It is native from Tom's place north of Bishop, east into west central Nevada and south along the east side of the Sierras to the So. Cal Mountains. The flowers are 1" white rose-like. It is easy to grow if you give it sun and a little water to get established. It is a clean and neat plant that has grown easily in all the spots we've tried it. If you want to see the differences between this species and P. tridentata they grow next to each other at Tom's Place. This one is darker green. This plant is used as a browse plant in the winter throughout its range. I think this shrub would be excellent in the east or parts of Europe.

Foliage of Purshia glandulosa is evergreen.
Flower of Purshia glandulosa has color yellow.
