Synonym: Hoita macrostachya. A deciduous perennial that grows to 6 ft. tall with pea-shaped purple flower clusters. The Indians used the roots as rope fiber. Psoralea macrostachya is a stream-side or seasonal creek-side plant. Normal companion plants are Salix, Sambucus, Rosa and Symphoricarpos. Very pretty plant in flower in spring-summer.

Psoralea macrostachya tolerates clay, serpentine and seasonal flooding.
