A midget pine that grows along the Northern California coast to Alaska. It's good for bonsai. Do not expect a straight tree as they are always crooked and windswept. It will grow right on coastal cliffs. Not the most drought tolerant tree we have but will survive along the coasts with no water after established if mulched. Stable and easy.

Foliage of Pinus contorta var. contorta has color green-gray and is evergreen.
Flower of Pinus contorta var. contorta has color na.
