Penstemon thompsoniae

Thompson's beardtongue.

1Gal Container (Up to 0)
Thompson's beardtongue is a small flat perennial with small gray leaves and bright blue flowers. Rather attractive in its diminutive way. We lost most of our plants in the Dec. 1990 freeze . It seems to be hardy to about 0 F. It is native to limestone on the mountains ringing Las Vegas on all sides for a 100+ miles. It doesn't have nearly the drought tolerance its native range would indicate. It survived regular garden conditions well.

Penstemon thompsoniae is great for a bird garden.
Foliage of Penstemon thompsoniae has color green-gray and is evergreen.
Flower of Penstemon thompsoniae has color blue.
