We are not selling this product. This page is for informational purposes only.
A 2' perennial with 1-2" sky blue flowers, May-July. Native to southeastern Sierra Nevada to Wash., Idaho, Utah. It likes full sun good drainage and little water. It is a drought tolerant, a showy border plant. We've seen this along the east side of the Sierra from between Mojave and Tehachapi to Mono Lake. We saw it under Jeffrey Pine and Purshia (both species). It has been stable in the nursery both in the ground and in containers. An excellent choice for the hot interior. Probably not the best in the desert proper. Do not water after the first summer in all sites but the desert.

Penstemon speciosus tolerates sand.
Penstemon speciosus is great for a bird garden.
Foliage of Penstemon speciosus is evergreen.
Flower of Penstemon speciosus has color blue.
