Penstemon davidsonii

Blue Color Mat.

We are not selling this product. This page is for informational purposes only.
A little flat perennial that prefers to be under snowcover in winter. It needs good drainage and full sun in its element. 1-1 1/2" blue flowers in late spring. It does not like to dry out in summer and can not tolerate open sky cold at all. Hardy without snow to about -10. I would think it would make a great groundcover in Mass. or Rhode Island. It will not get above 1" tall with dark green foliage showing a little red. We have had it grow lush here only to freeze in Dec. then recover again in the spring to fry in the summer.

Penstemon davidsonii is great for a bird garden.
Foliage of Penstemon davidsonii is evergreen.
Flower of Penstemon davidsonii has color blue.
