Blazing Star is a very large and showy annual. Its three inch, yellow flowers stand out like a small California Flannel Bush (Fremontodendron species). One plant may have 25-35 flowers. It is native in middle California. Blazing Star grows naturally as single plants or in groups in open sunny areas of sandy soil.
