Perennial, flowers rose-pink, 2" across, June, narrow, red-green leaves form basal rosette in early spring, leaves die back in June, British Colombia to San Bernardino Mtns. to Rocky Mtns., not alkali tolerant, needs good drainage, the peeled, boiled root may be eaten, protect from birds until established, excellent showy plant at higher elevations or in the East. It has a tendency to rot in the winters at lower elevations because of wet conditions.

Flower of Lewisia rediviva has color pink.
Fruit of Lewisia rediviva is edible.
