Arnica chamissonis, Chamisso arnica, grows along meadows and creeks in the Southern California Mountains, up trough the Sierras to Alaska and across to Montana. Similar to a regular garden plant in cultivation. In California Chamisso arnica is native between about 5000-11,000 ft. and has done well in the Santa Margarita Nursery site.It's one of those flowers that the deer do not eat and you can water. A native for your "English Garden", along next to a lawn or mountain cabin.
