A small little perennial that grows in our western mountains.The most likely place to find Mountain Muhly in California is Yosemite Valley. Companion plants include Mutton Grass (Poa fendleriana), Western Yarrow (Achillea millefolium, American vetch (Vicia americana), Blue Grama (Bouteloua gracilis), Idaho fescue (Festuca idahoensis), Ponderosa pine (Pinus ponderosa), Syn. Calycodon montanum, Muhlenbergia trifida, M. gracilis.
