Philadelphus microphyllus

Littlefeaf Mock Orange is a small banana/orange/pinapple/vanilla scented fragrant shrub that is drought tolerant. This mock orange grows in light shade to full sun and unlike it's cousin does not like wet feet in winter-spring. Philadelphus microphyllus does like water once a week for first season then the foliage washed off every couple weeks during the summer heat. Mix with Artemisia tridenaata, Symphoricarpus longiflorus, Cercocarpus ledifolius and some large boulders for the Sedona look. syn. Philadelphus occidentalis, P. argenteus, P. stramineus, P. minutus, P. nitidus, P. m. var. ovatus, Intermountain Flora reports P. serpyllifolius was misapplied.
