Pale Ashy Silk-tassel Bush is an eight foot evergreen shrub, a tough shrub where you need drought tolerance and a light green-gray foliage, native to the mountains of coastal central California to E. Mojave to San Diego, will make it in L.A. with no water after 2 years. It has been easy in our garden. Much easier than 'James Roof' in the interior.
In the Mt. Pinos area it grows between the Pinyon pines and the desert.

Garrya flavescens var. pallida tolerates clay.

Foliage of Garrya flavescens var. pallida has color gray and is evergreen.
Flower of Garrya flavescens var. pallida has color white.

Communities for Garrya flavescens var. pallida:Chaparral, Pinyon-Juniper Woodland and Yellow Pine Forest.
