Dicentra chrysantha, Golden Eardrops, is a gray perennial 2 feet tall with 4 feet spikes of yellow flowers. Flowers May - July. Found in the interior coast ranges and Sierra Nevada Range. cold tolerant to 5 or less, deer will browse slightly.
Syn. Ehrendorferia chrysantha, sounds like the Swedish chef is naming plants again.
