Common Rush, Juncus effusus is a perennial rush. Occurs in wet spots in the oak woodland/chaparral community. A riparian plant, evergreen. Bright green clumps mixed in with Agrostis Hooveri. Shallow sandy soils that load up in winter/spring with water. Full sun to part shade. Very stable and easy to grow.

Juncus effusus tolerates no drainage and seasonal flooding.
