A clumping perennial that grows from Oregon to Baja along the coast and up into the mountains. Commonly associated in seeps and springs with openings in willows, mixed with Rosa californica, Artemisia Douglasiana, Mimulus spp., Symphoricarpos spp. And Rubus spp.. A knee-high spike of green, very avant-garde.

Juncus patens tolerates no drainage and seasonal flooding.

Foliage of Juncus patens is stressdeciduous.
Flower of Juncus patens has color yellow.
