A petite rhizomatous perennial glandular hedge nettle with white/pale pink (with purplish pink markings)flowers, and fuzzy light green leaves. This plant grows in many plant communities, from the coastal sage scrub to the red fir forest, in places where there is a little extra moisture. In this county it prefers clay/serpentine soil usually in a moist seep/bog with Eleocharis macrostachya, Juncus phaeocephalus, Mimulus guttatus, Ranunculus californicus, Verbena lasiostachys. This hedge nettle would be a good choice for small, native perennial flower borders in town. Those 1 ft. by 3 ft. flower beds where you can fit one Satureja douglasii, one Stachys, and one Aquilegia species.
