Thin annual, with fleshy leaves, pink flowers, very delicate, widely distibuted, grows in alkaline places, sandy areas, salt marshes, very adaptable in its environmental requirements. Found along the coasts of California, outer north coast ranges, the San Joaquin and Sacramento Valleys, central Sierra Nevada foothills, San Francisco Bay, Channel Islands, Peninsular Ranges, the California deserts, To Washington, eastern U.S., South America, Eurasia.(Syn. Arenaria rubra var. marina, Arenaria marina, Spergularia salina, Buda marina, Sperularia marina, Tisa marina)

Spergularia marina tolerates seaside conditions, alkaline soil, salt, sand, no drainage and seasonal flooding.

Foliage of Spergularia marina is stressdeciduous.
Flower of Spergularia marina has color pink.
