Upright to spreading perennial, invasive, with whitish to blue flowers, Indigenous to California. from thick, creeping roots, grows in dry or moist saline and alkaline areas. California, Arizona, Nevada, subtropical to tropical America.

Heliotropium curassavicum tolerates seaside conditions, alkaline soil, salt and seasonal flooding.

Foliage of Heliotropium curassavicum has color green-gray and is stressdeciduous.
