A gray perennial, with scurfy leaves, prostrate, spreading , good as groundcover, in sandy, coastal areas, at seaside, flowers insignificant, birds and small mammals eat seeds and foliage, also useful in restoration, not for large areas, but used as contrast for green-foliaged plants.
