A very unusual california native. It looks like a desert plant, but grows under Torrey pines, in open chaparral right next to the coast.

Lycium californicum tolerates seaside conditions, salt, sand and clay.
Lycium californicum is great for a bird garden.

Flower of Lycium californicum has color white.
Fruit of Lycium californicum is edible.
