A lovely little perennial that grows in sand on hard pan in the Nipomo-Lompoc area. A very worthwhile addition to a perennial garden(as are most Monardellas). In the garden it has proven to be very stable as long as it gets a little water(about the same as a Pelargonium, in general wash it off once every week or two) In the wild it grows with a soil lichen and blue-green algae
