The delicate little plants commonly under Oaks in spring. These plants give the appearance of a lush fairy woodland to the Nursery in Spring, by mid-summer they've completely disappeared. Other forms of this plant kept the British in greens during WWII. If Miner's Lettuce is native in your area you can have large stands under your trees by controlling the weeds(don't spray the Miner's Lettuce!) and mulching with 2-3 inches of wood chips.
