Hedgerow Hairstreak, Satyrium saepium

This little butterfly is associated with Ceanothus. The larva live on Ceanothus and the adults use Ceanothus as a nectar source and pollinate it. Sometimes you'll find five or more of these butterflies on on Ceanothus working the different flowers. Ceanothus 'Remote Blue' seems to be very attractive to them.
