A hybrid between Salvia mellifera and Salvia sonomensis. Dara's Choice grows 3' tall and 3' across in the interior, flat by 3' where the coastal winds can hit it. Easy to grow in the nursery and very fast. It is probably a little easier to grow than S.sonomensis in a regular garden. The experiences with it to date have been fair as it is not super drought tolerant, except along the coast. If in the summer fog belt, water the least you can get away with. For the rest of you, this sage tolerates once a week water over head watering, but dies on drip at about three years . Useful to blow out a landscape for a house that needs to sell. In two-three months it can look landscaped. Click here for more about California Sages
