Creeping Black Sage.
Description
A flat fragrant shrub with dark green foliage and light blue flowers. It can get to be 6' across with a 1' mound in the middle. It likes full sun and good drainage. Needs no summer water in most areas. Better looking and a lower fire hazard with once-a-month water. Not very cold hardy. It has frozen badly at 27 deg. f. will not recover at about 20 deg. f.. We've had customers in the Sierras tell us it has made it there with temperatures of 15. This plant prefers loam or good draining clay. It will grow in sand or gravel but looks yellow-green instead of green. Click here for more about California Sages
