Description
A green-green sprawling groundcover manzanita of hybrid origin. This was planting as the entrance groundcover for Stanford University. It is very fast growing for a manzanita and will lose its form very rapidly in interior heat if not kept in check. We were not impressed with this manzanita at our location(too hot and cold), but in a coastal garden it can be a real winner. Low, grey and sprawling. Loves beach sand, but tolerates clay. Perfectly drought tolerant in beach sand and along the coast. Needs once a week water in interior, and you must prune it at least twice a year to keep it neat in the inland heat.
