Description

Pacific Mist is green-green sprawling groundcover of hybrid origin. Pacific Mist was planted as the entrance groundcover for Stanford University. It is very fast growing for a manzanita and but can loose its form in interior heat if not kept in check. In a coastal garden it can be a real winner. Low, gray and sprawling. Loves beach sand, but tolerates clay. Need supplemental water in hot interior climates. Perfectly drought tolerant in beach sand and along the coast. Needs once a week water in interior, and you may need to prune it occasionally to keep it neat in the inland heat. Click here for more about California Manzanitas(Arctostaphylos).
