Western Fence lizard and Racer Snake

There is constant activity in the nursery. Photo opportunities abound to the point where I have to stop and actually get some work done.
I've often wondered why the scales on lizards fold backward, they get stuck in all sorts of things.

What do you get when you put a Racer Snake and Lizard together? Lunch. (And no I didn't do anything but the photo.) - grid24_12

I only got one photo before the snake ran amongst the pots.
