Margarita's Joy manzanita is an interesting natural hybrid that occurs on the central coast. A very neat, tight and clean manzanita that is small enough to fit in most gardens. Dainty. The plant is growing here with no water other than rainfall. It made it through three years of 7-8 inches of rainfall and 100 degree summers with no extra water. Hummingbirds love it, even though it's only a few feet tall and couple ft. wide. Foliage is bright green, flowers pure white.
The parents were probably Arctostaphylos crustacea, Arctostaphylos osoensis, and pechoensis as it came out a hybrid swam above Availa.
