Description
Sprawling shrub manzanita to 8-12 feet wide, two to eight foot tall, light green foliage with reddish new growth. A nice looking plant with glossy green leaves and a shiny clean appearance. It doesn't grow upright as much as a sprawl. In the wild it is a show stopper with its rough shredding reddish brown bark, glossy green-red leaves twisted high above your head in a wind swept look. 'Will tolerate garden conditions as long as there's drainage. Native on siliceous shale. Was originally include with Arctostaphylos purissima, both should probably be variations or subspecies of A. pechoensis.
