A plant for containers or dry gardens. Native to the immediate coast of Baja and San Diego. Not common in California. Leaves in a rosette on a short two ft. stem (caudex), and flowering stem is up to 12 feet in height. Outstanding as an accent in southern coastal gardens. Associated plants include Lycium californicum, Cneoridium dumosum, Adenostoma fasciculatum, Solanum glabrum, Rhus integrifolia, and Coreopsis maritima.
