Description
(Juniperus communis saxatilis, Juniperus sibirica, Juniperus nana) A prostrate groundcover that grows at high elevations in northern Calif. to Alaska to Greenland. A common low mountain groundcover in Alaska. In the Sierra it is found under squaw currant and grows over rock outcroppings. It has done fine here and in Bakersfield in full sun. In CALM at Bakersfield it survived for years in full sun with regular water. How much further from the granitic rocks at Mono Pass can you get?
