A slow growing 8\' evergreen shrub that grows along the coast from Los Angeles to Baja and on Santa Catalina. It looks like a manzanita crossed with a coffeeberry. It likes full sun and regular water for first summer. It needs mulch on top of its roots. It tolerates most soils, but needs perfect drainage. It is native to rainfall areas of about 15-20 inches/year.
