Verbena goodingii Pink Verbena - grid24_24
A little 1' tall by 3' across perennial that has bright pink-purple flowers. It likes good drainage and some summer water. It looks like the non-native verbena in many ways. It is native to 4000-6000' in the desert southwest where the summer thunderstorms give it a little summer water. It seems to be garden tolerant and fairly stable in the nursery. It is not as drought tolerant as its desert environment would lead you to believe. Syn. Glandularia gooddingii.

Verbena goodingii is great for a butterfly garden.
Foliage of Verbena goodingii has color green and is deciduous.
