A deciduous 2\'sub-shrub with reddish pink flowers in clusters 2\"across. Do not expect it to flower in mild climates. Native from 2000\' to 11,000, from the central Sierra Nevada to B.C.. It should do well on the East Coast or in Europe. It grows under Ponderosa pine, Kellogg Oak and Black Cottonwood on a north-east slopes. We\'ve had this species in before from other sites and it was not stable here. This form is stable here.
