Arctostaphylos pacifica x is an evergreen groundcover that is very garden tolerant and grows well with regular waterings. This is supposed to be like A. glandulosa, but it looks much more like A. uva-ursi. The appearance is a very formal dark green with reddish hues. Our mother plants were less than a foot tall (3"actually), 3' across after 4 years, lush and dark green. This is one of the most beautiful manzanitas for a small garden. (One plant is left in the wild.) It has been considered by some as a distinct species and others as a hybrid, of presumably, Arctostaphylos glandulosa and Arctostaphylos uva-ursi. It grows well on sandstone soils.
